Brilliant little box! December 29, 2007 Mr. J. B. Eastwell (Surrey, UK) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
We bought this for my in-laws, and are very impressed with the build quality, sound reproduction and ease of use. They already have a Bose, and it compares very favourably, as well as looking particularly stylish. While it does not have quite such deep bass, it still fills the room with sound, and being able to adjust the bass and treble is a major advantage! It was set up and going straight out of the box, and the inserts to adapt to different ipod sizes are also useful. The remote control is very nice. If I had to fault it, I would say that a socket to plug in an external aerial for the DAB would be handy, particularly for rural locations. Perhaps the display could be a little larger too.
DAB and iPod integration January 14, 2008 Richard Kelly (Manchester, England) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I was after a set of decent speakers with a built in DAB radio for my Gen5 iPod, and this looks like it ticked all the boxes. Ordered it from Amazon on the free delivery option and it arrived 3 days later. Setting up could not be any easier - find a space to sit it, plug it in and switch it on. Make sure the aeriel is up and it auto scanned for DAB radio channels, I live in a good signal quality area so I have lots of channels! The iPod sits in an ejectable tray, you do need to find the right fitting of for it, 6 are provided in the box and if you check them then you should find one to fit just about all iPods (I'm not sure how you change the fitting if you change your iPod though as they fit in with a distinct click). You can use the provided remote control to control your iPod - click menu to use the usual menu options and press the period key as the central button. The unit also charges your iPod even when it is on standby. If you don't have an iPod you can still connect an MP3 player through the input jack - there is a cable supplied for this. As to sound quality I have been very pleased so far. Quality when using an iPod is excellent, DAB radio sounds a bit hollow BUT it is still much better than my old DAB radio. You do need to play with the bass and treble settings a bit to make it sound better. It looks, it sounds good and it is simple enough for anyone to setup.
Bose Ipod dock redundant February 4, 2008 Bob W (Pickering, North Yorkshire, UK.) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Just excellent. Now my Bose unit which doesn't have DAB is now lying unused. The sound is great, it's simple to use and looks good as well plus it keeps my Ipod charged when not in use.
Aerial fix April 6, 2008 D. Pugh (Wales) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Noted the comments about the sensitivity. the aerial actually is just screwed into a standard socket so you can remove the telescopic aerial and connect up a more powerful aerial. This gives much more flexibility with placement of the unit
recommend you buy! December 10, 2007 Dant (Wales) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
really fantastic product, cant really add to whats been said here except that I didn't expect the sound to be as good as it is even though I had read reviews before I bought it. This is the best speaker system on the market today!
