I have wanted an ipod for some time and did alot of research on the internet in order to find the perfect model.
I read many reviews and I eventually choose the ipod classic 80gb due to the memory space available. I have owned my ipod classic for two weeks now and let me tell you...........this is a well made item which is so simple to use.
the sound quallity is fantastic and the screen is large enough and clear.
Get one.........its fantastic!!

So I bought this product on Thursday night and it has just arrived.
I must say the UI is great.
The search features are also very good allowing me to get to the song/artist/composer etc much quicker.
It should also be noted that the screen is of very high quality.
Great for watching video podcasts.

The one downside is that the back of iPod gets smudges easily, so you'll need a cover if you wish to protect it.

Now don't get me wrong from the title, I'm not one for having the latest of anything, I think my stereo is older than Hannah Montana. I had an MP3 player (no where near the quality etc of any iPod) and only really used it to block out the background noise and radio at work. I also rarely changed the music on it as it was so difficult to use. I'm a fan of CD's for in my car but obviously there's only so many of those you want to carry around with you. When my boyfriend asked me what I wanted for my birthday I was a bit stuck until I heard that I could get a little device to use an iPod in the car, through the stereo and thought I may as well take the plunge.

It surprised me on many levels; It's sooo easy to use, excellent sound quality from the provided ear phones, my boyfriend has the older classic and compared to this it's slimmer. I don't really get along with technology so was really pleased with myself when I was able to sync all my songs without any help! The silver finish is just so sleek and looks great with the chrome back.

If you are looking to switch to/upgrade your iPod - look no further. This little number looks the part and a five year old wouldn't have any difficulty using it!

5 out of 5 stars No slip case   September 11, 2007

Just a quick word of warning. This item does not come with the slip case that the old 80 gig models did, so if you want one, get one before leaving the shop or checking out.

Absolutely awesome! I went from the Ipod with click wheel to this and it's an incredible difference!

159 for 80GB of space? Phenomenal! Well worth the money.

Easy to use, with an improved interface and a really decent battery life. It's an absolutely beautiful bit of kit too! Tis a joy to behold!
It's the same size as the old 30GB video Ipod so if you've got one and upgrade to this it'll fit in the same case (if you use one). The 160GB model is the same size as the 5th Gen 80GB version.

Couple of reviews mentioned the volume limiter - you don't need to use it. If it's not on there's no issue.

My only question to Apple - USB only? why is it not firewire compatible?
