5 out of 5 stars Impressive Little Unit and Video, too!   March 13, 2008

Am very impressed with my new nano. Sound quality & volume is, I think, better than the new classic. Its small size may shock the first time you see it but the screen is bigger than the old one and reasonable for music videos. Good text size, flow features and colours. 8G is more than enough memory for me.

Only cons are the usual ones about iTunes, especially no or limited album art support for ripped tracks which was never a problem for microsoft and no support for protected wmas from other providers even tho you have a current license. If a PC user and switching to iTunes from another provider, read the bit in Help about managing your music BEFORE you set up iTunes and your iPod. Pay attention during set-up: Choosing to manage your music yourself is the way to go. Oh, and the nice shiny new metal back marks easily, so a skin is a good idea if you shove it in pocket/handbag with all your other stuff.

Amazon has the cheapest price.

By now everyone understands the shortcoming of Apple, iTunes, etc. but as a portable entertainment device this is the best.
Music, audiobooks, podcasts, film, TV ... the quality is superb, aestheitcally it's amazing and it's small size makes it a real pleasure to use.
The headphones supplied don't do it justice, they're ok, but spend a bit more and get the best audio quality.

Are you thinking about buying an ipod, never bought an apple product before, worried about wether it will work well with a PC if so this may help. I have never bought apple before and decided I wanted an MP3 player, in terms of capacity:Costs ratio they are very good at 8GB for 130 it is a bargain compared to other players. Connectivity: I have all my music on Media Player on my PC, I downloaded Itunes and within 30 mins it was all set up with Album Art and correct tags, the connectivity between the ipod and the pc was really easy and works great. The product itself is fantastic, super sound, great features and looks great. The only problem I found was that in the box all you get is basic headphones and a usb cable, the better apple headphones are 25.00 which you will want and I spent ages researching third party docks and cables all over the net and basically the only way to go is with the Apple AV connection kit which is great and does everything you need in terms of charging, docking with Hi-Fi and more but at the stupid price of 70 its a bit steep. If you want the player and all the bits it will actually cost 230.00 but its worth it. So if your like me and want to convert to apple totaly from Microsoft (XBOX is rubbish, PS3 RULES!!!) then my advice based on my first apple xperience is BUY THIS PRODUCT!

Really good. Plenty of memory for music with enough for some videos/pictures. Worth buying and is really portable. Easy to use and download onto so worth the money.

5 out of 5 stars Wow - once again   April 15, 2008

I recently lost my beloved first generation iPod nano at security in a Spanish airport so I decided it was time to treat myself to the present (third) generation and once again I have been blown away.

This model holds twice the music my old one did, and is capable of supporting video, photo and podcasts. The nano also benefits from a larger screen and more battery life, in order to enjoy your digital media to the full.

If you're familiar with Apple and their iPods then this is an excellent addition to their tree.
