2 out of 5 stars Waste of Money!   February 9, 2007

I bought this charger purely because of the cheap price and it was worth every penny (all 1p of it!!). It only charges my iPod when my ipod still has some battery left but if my iPod is completely out of battery, it does not work. When it is working though, it makes an annoying 'buzzing' sound. I recommend spashing out on a more expensive charger which actually works.

NOTE: this charger is not suitable for all generations of iPod. I have an older model which charges via FireWire (specifically, the four-button model), and this cannot be used with it. Unless you have a newer iPod which charges via USB, avoid.

I bought this charger to use with a 2nd generation iPod Nano. It doesn't work! Plugged it in, the little green light on the charger lit to show it is working, but it wouldn't charge my iPod, regardless of how long I left it plugged in.
Since it cost 1p plus about 5 in shipping, do I return it to get my 1p back? I think I'll just throw it out. Lesson learned. If it sounds too good to be true...

I had the same experience as fantasy escapist: I left my IPod nano to charge overnight and in the morning it had barely charged at all. Although it seems to work for some customers, I found this item to be a complete waste of money, and have now ditched it and traded up for an Apple mains charger.

I brought this in January and then connected it to my iPod to charge and left it for a few hours. I came back and it was as if time hadn't passed. Didn't the seller say that it's compatible with all iPods? Well, guess what? Mine had a sticker on it saying it was for Nano, huh?

Basically, I had to leave my iPod for 2 days or more, so the battery would fully charge, which is ridiculous. At least it works, albeit very slowly and it is cheap for a reason, so buyer beware. I ended up getting a full refund - turns out something was wrong with the circuiting with the one I had from the batch it came from.

A note to all iPod owners - buy the actual Apple iPod charger by Apple themselves but shop around for the cheapest prices, as the RRP is [...]! Anyway, you'll thank yourself when your iPod actually charges in good time cause it's good quality and actually COMPATIBLE with your iPod.
