I already have a JBL onstage 2 in the kitchen, I'm a big fan of Harman Kardon speakers so when I fancied something a bit meatier for the living room I went straight for this, I didn't fancy paying the price for the Bose sound dock. Is it better than the Bose?.... I don't know, but having had this for a couple of weeks I have given away my separates ( Nad , Mission ). It has a very big precise sound which fills my living room easily. The bass is punchy and clear and surprisingly deep. It deals well with everything I listen to; jazz, blues, country, reggae, hip hop......etc. Having embraced mp3, ipod and all things small, the JBL suits me perfectly,
So anyway, It's compact, plenty loud, clear, decent bass, not bad looking, (I would have preferred the black one but I got a 50 discount on the silver one) it's got a decent remote, it's reasonably priced and made by Harman Kardon. It takes the tunes out of your Ipod and hangs them in the air in front of you which means that there is always music on. (the Hi-fi was an occasional thing). I'm very happy with it....5 stars
