Cheap as chips, and a bit of a bobby dazzler! March 29, 2008 Pete (Leeds) Looked at all sorts of docks, including the 35 apple universal dock with remote, but I have to say that for 15 the iw300 is a great bit of kit. I'm using this for audio only, running into a really good Rotel amp and mission speakers, and i'm very happy with it thus far. For those of us with audiophile ears, playing your ipod this way does highlight the fact that mp3 is simply not as wonderful a medium sonically as it could be, but leaving that aside, it's given me easy-peasy 'at home' access to the 17000 odd tracks I've crammed my ipod classic with. And unlike the apple universal dock I can run this off the mains to charge my ipod, and I got all the cables I needed in the box, which makes it even better value, as far as I'm concerned. Given the strength of feeling expressed in the other review on here, maybe iWantit are really inconsistent in the quality control department? As I say, for not much cash this is well worth it from my point of view.
Good quality sound May 31, 2008 Dan B (Oxford) One of the few ipod docks with phono (RCA) output. Good remote control with volume control. No hiss or distortion in mine.
Avoid March 20, 2008 Adrian (UK) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got one of these with my 80gig iPod Classic. Outputs are fine (phono and s-video) as is the remote (full functionality) and synchronising through the usb cable. BUT, persistent hiss and distortion ruins the signal to the hifi; it's so bad, that I seriously thought that the AAC compression was at fault. To be avoided.
