Does the job well. December 3, 2009 Jason Worthington 45 out of 45 found this review helpful
I wanted an iPhone cover that could potentially take a few knocks, all the other silicon cases seemed to simply stop scratches and the like but this has reinforced corners and a back brace, also it raises up from the screen enough that a drop flat onto the front wouldn't hit the screen. The case is not that obtrusive and feels good, doesn't turn sticky, has a 'rough' texture for good grip.
I was worried about the sides been flappy, but it doesn't seem to be a problem unless I push my thumb purposefully right into them. Mine came with an otterbox screen cover which went on perfectly, you don't know it's there.
It's simple and black, doesn't scream pretencious or tasteless and the case is very very cheap. I would definately recommend this case to sensible practical folk.

Great value purchase, truly protects and covers the iPhone. Has holes in all the right places, and buttons are covered to stop fluff etc. getting into the corners of them. Rubber feel, looks good. Minor shame that tissue fluff in trouser pockets clings to the rubber, but to be expected really!
Another member of the family is going to buy an iPhone, and will recommend this to them.

A rubberised case that fits perfectly with the 3Gs. Does exactly as I hoped it would.
A few months with using the case and I'm still mostly happy with it however I've noticed the the fit is not as snug as it first was. This is not a big deal as the case is still protecting the phone and doing a fine job of it.
Otterbox 'Impact' case for iPhone April 14, 2010 K Corbett-Jones 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
The Otterbox 'Impact' - despite it's macho-sounding name - will not make your iPhone indestructible. So, if you're a builder or work in a dusty environment this may not be the one for you. Apart from a clear film screen protector (supplied) the screen is uncovered and the top and bottom ports, speakers, microphone, and camera are permanently open and accessible - even the shiny Apple logo on the back of your phone remains uncovered. (I guess to pander to the "Hey everybody, look, I've got an iPhone" crowd).
That said, I do like this case. Ever since my first iPhone lost an argument with a quarry tile floor, I have had fairly robust cases. Without exception, these have looked klunky and managed to destroy the iPhone's elegance and impede it's usability. The 'Impact' reaches a happy compromise: it's one of the more interesting rubber designs currently available, with a raised, X-shape rear moulding and very grippy sides - you'd have to try hard to let it slip from your fingers. If you did drop it, however, extra thick rubber at the corners should cushion the impact (hey, maybe that's why they...) The Home, Volume and On/Off buttons are covered yet still work perfectly. The ringer on/off slider remains uncovered. The supplied screen protector seems to be very scratch resistant and doesn't affect sensitivity or visibility. The bottom and top ports are accessory compatible. Included in the package are: Case, Screen Protector, Applicator and MicroFibre cloth.
So, not perfect but if you want a good degree of protection without impeding usability this could be the case for you.
Otterbox Impact Case for iPhone 3G January 21, 2010 Max Howard (London, UK) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Having spent some time browsing the reviews for iPhone protectors on Amazon, I ended up buying this. As stated before, this is not a building site protector keeping out dirt and dust but rather just a general use protector with a screen guard and rubber surround.
It doesn't make the iPhone much larger and protects all of the exposed corners in a robust way without impairing usage of the iPhone screen or external buttons. Given it is rubber, it is also easy to hold onto the iPhone with one hand without fear of dropping it.
I also don't find it an issue with the edges of the rubber - yes, you can lift them slightly (you need to in order to insert the iPhone) but it doesn't feel poor quality and does enable full usage of the screen.
For the price I think this is very good and delivery was on time. I can't speak about the longevity but at £10, you may as well replace it.
