I bought this item as I needed to be able charge my sat nav whilst using the lighter for either a dvd player or to charge my phone.
On using it for the first time, it blew the fuse in the cigarette lighter and left me unable to use it at all for a weeks holiday with alot of driving.
Whilst getting it repaired, I was advised that using a splitter would mean too much power going through the lighter, hence why the fuse blew.
Therefore, simply avoid using one of these if at all possible! Cost me alot more than the cost of this to repair!
