The majority of reviews for this product are positive and I am going to join them.It is easy to install and operate and is made of good quality materials.
The bottom plugs in to the cigarette lighter socket and has two adapters to make sure it will fit any size socket your car has. Attached is the bendy arm which is very solid and makes the operating position of your IPod very flexible.
The holder is also made of a good quality plastic and can be rotated as well.
I plugged it in to the cigarette lighter and found that perhaps the fitting was a bit too snug which meant that when I pulled it out it started to pull the socket from the dashboard. No worries, a dab of silicon grease to lubricate the stiff rubbers and it was perfect.
The Tunebase has the option of programming 4 different FM frequencies between 88 and 107.
I found 4 frequencies on my car stereo which had no signs of any transmissions and then selected the same four frequencies for the Tunebase.
Hey presto I can, for the 1st time, listen to my IPod in the car and reception quality is near perfect. The only time I noticed any background noise was between tracks and I am not sure whether this was due to the recording or the Tunebase. This is an irrelevance as it is not detectable when a track is playing.
Should you drive in to an area where a transmission is taking place you just need to change to a different frequency.
Previously, I bought a cassette/IPod adapter and it was hopeless.
I assure you this is far superior and great value for money, it's just a shame I did not know about it earlier.
