5 out of 5 stars Great Little Performer!   January 16, 2008

I was fedup when my favourite DJ on 6music was relegated to the grave-yard shift so decided I needed a DAB for the bedroom. I'd already got a Pure DAB in kitchen so know that quaity is good.
1st impression was, "It's so small!" [the Siesta was replacing a Multi-band Communications Receiver.] "it's gonna sound tinny"
Needn't have worried, sound is fab from such a little box.
Display is exactly right, I use reading glasses but this is easy to read at night without. Auto-dimming works fine.
3 alarm modes, weekdays[mon-fri],weekends and every day.
Time setting is automatic, from DAB.
The sleep setting is a doddle too, from 15 to 90mins in 15 minute sections.
Here's a clever trick though, if I go to sleep with Gideon Coe on DAB I wake up to Radio4 Today prog! You can asign either DAB or FM on the alarm so you don't have to wake up with same station.
All in all, a great little radio. I love it!

5 out of 5 stars This is the only clock radio worth buying!   January 21, 2008

I love this product - It has brilliant sound quality (As do all PURE products)and a great feature set. You get to program alarm times for weekdays only, thus making sure you don't get woken up at weekends if you forget to switch it off.

The Display automatically dims when the lights are off which is great if you don't want your room bathed in a neon glow that keeps you awake. The display angle is pretty poor so make sure you point it roughly at where your head will be when sleeping so that you can see the clock properly. This probably the only issue with this clock but it is a small trade off for all the other brilliant bits and is not really a big deal.

The clock also has a headphone jack if you want to listen to something on the radio while your partner is sleeping. I don't expect many people use this but it is another nice feature that is there if you want it.

5 out of 5 stars What more you could ask for at this price?   January 19, 2008

Excellent product, good sound and some nice simple features - including three alarm settings, an auto-dimming backlight and a great interface. Also congrats to Pure for producing a product with such a low power consumption - in standby and operation. Several other clock radios I've seen will cost you 10 in wasted energy. Highly recommend.

I received a DAB clock radio for Christmas. Sadly, it consistently failed the basic requirement for a clock radio - reliability. It was also difficult to programme and shone much too brightly at night. This gift had to go, so was duly returned. Instead, I purchased the PURE Siesta. What a contrast! Easy to use, well designed, good sound quality, completely reliable, discreetly lit. Excellent value.

Really am happy with this, for the price you get an excellent DAB player, setup is so easy: just plug it in and give it a few minutes and it tunes the stations and sets time/date etc.

Sound quality is fantastic for a mono speaker this size. My housemates have a gemini DAB clock/radio and it is pretty much worlds apart in sound, much cleaner and fuller sound.

I live in London and have full strength reception from the included wire antennae so the receiver is high quality. Only thing I can imagine some might not like is the plastic feel but it is really is a top performer and for a bedside alarm clock-good sound and easy operation is al you need!
