Great! January 10, 2005 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
Great sound etc as mentioned already. If the phones go dead, here is what to do: remove the rubber bit. The O shaped diaphragm must be cleaned with a needle Gently feel around until you can feel a hole in the diaphragm, and push through it. There must be a hole in each side for the sound to get through. There holes often get clogged with earwax eyc, and need to be kept open. If you do that the sound should return to normal.
Awesome sound : Problem solved ! May 18, 2007 Paul J. Leith (Dublin, Ireland) 11 out of 12 found this review helpful
I bought these yesterday and yes, I too, couldn't get them to fit : the sound was all treble no bass. I was actually going to return them ! Then I read a review elsewhere on how these should be used properly - they are not headphones, they are ear-plugs, and as such they must be fitted differently. Behold : Right ear : use your left hand to PULL UP your right ear - this will straighten your ear canal and ensure the buds fit snugly. I found that putting my left arm behind my shoulder did the trick. Left ear : as above only using your right arm behind your shoulder to pull up your left ear. When inserted this way, you should be able to tug lightly on the chord and they won't move plus all ambient sound is blocked completely ! Now sit back and enjoy some incredible sound quality. Xman.
Great headphones, it all about how to fit them in August 9, 2005 11 out of 13 found this review helpful
I think these headphones sound great after a while of trying to get them in right. the part where Apple went wrong is in their manual. They have no diagrams, instructions, etc. for how to fit these into your ear. If you are trying to insert the RIGHT headphone, use your LEFT arm and put it over your shoulder, behind your head, and grab the top of your right ear. Pull your ear upward so as to "straighten" out your ear canal. Then insert the headphone and swivel it in a circular motion to slide it into your ear. Once they are in you should be able to pull lightly on them and they will not move out. If they move when pulled, then you either have not pushed them far enough in your ear or you should try a different size cup. You will know when you got them in right as when you talk it sounds muffled like it does on a airplane before your ears pop
IF your ear canals are as wide as the Dartford tunnel. September 15, 2005 Loretta (Rutland) 10 out of 12 found this review helpful
The sound quality from these in ear headphones is far superior to the earbuds supplied with your ipod. Better bass and all round clarity. However, these little beauties are designed to go right inside your ear canal and stay there. Unfortunately even the smallest adaptor was too big for me (and many others judging by the reviews here). Following the instructions given in another review here (as there are none supplied by Apple themselves) I had some success with one Ear, proving I was doing it right, but I could not get the other to stay in. My husband is very pleased with them though as he has ears like trumpets! As a basic guide I would say that if you can get the blunt end of a Bic biro in your ear canal with little resistance, you should be ok.
Fantastic Headphones July 29, 2005 A. Binkley (Staffordshire, UK) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
These have to be the best headphones I've ever had, they sound fantastic, are comfortable to wear for long periods and if like me you have small ears they won't make your ears sore or fall out. They do have a tendency to cut you off from the world though...be warned! I would highly recommend these, they are worth the extra expenditure, I hear sounds on albums that I simply didn't hear before.
