Stylish, Portable and Adaptable January 5, 2008 H. K. Carmichael (UK) 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
Having purchased and received it by courier, I have just tested this speaker docking system and found for me it is excellent value for money with a quality sound for classical, military pipe bands, rock, country and R&B. My silver nano is complemented by the black casing with the silver speaker face of the docking system giving it the appearance of a matching set. I have tried out my son's larger video ipod and my wife's, both in different colours and they also set-off nicely against the black and silver. The unit is certainly neat and portable enough to carry with you on holiday to operate from the mains and there is no need to carry another charger. The remote meets all requirements. It saves you from manually, messing around with your ipod, while it is docked. On command it zips through all the ipod menus efficiently. The mode may be changed to FM radio which can be tuned from the remote's keyboard. The volume control can be used from anywhere within reason in the room. There is a USB connection to synchronise the Ipod with your PC. The unit also may be used as a quality PC speaker and be connected to other makes of MP3, CD and tape players from their headphone sockets. I bought by son a 179 docking unit for Christmas 2006. It performs well. However the Gear4 in 2008 at under 40 for my purpose is worth every penny and performs up to a similiar standard.
Very Pleasing January 4, 2008 Callum (England) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
This was a great buy from Amazon, i hade been looking for sometime, but never found speakers that could charge your iPod as well as connect to radio. This is a reasonably good price, compared to other speakers i have had and looked at. These speakers, are quite good for sound, people say when you get up too high volume it will loose the quality, but i have not yet come across this into the 2 weeks i have had them, it is very easy too set up, and very easy too transport and store away, because it is a reasonable size, and light. The speakers are blasting away good quality, and high volume sounds and this is the best buy i have ever had, thank you Amazon! I would reccomend these to people who want loud and crisp sounds, with easy controls (Such as the remote). Thanks Amazon!
Meet expectations, nice price too! March 23, 2008 Big Spender (Bucks, UK) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I wouldn't exactly use these for a 'House Party' as name leads us to believe, they are perfect for a bedroom but 'Gear4 Bedroom 3 Speakers' just doesn't sounds very cool, does it?! My favourite benefit is that it comes with a remote, they are very reasonable speakers for a very reasonable price, just don't expect them to be Bose quality.
..."performs like a 100 unit " June 17, 2008 Dj Murray (Twickenham) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Mine currently resides in the kitchen... which is, I believe, where all good 'house parties' end up, but this little beauty does more than entertain whist cooking. It is probably the best all-round ipod speaker I have ever owned; value for money plays its part when you consider that it performs like a 100 unit and I think it used to sell for 80 less than a year ago. The only thing that it's missing is the power by battery capability but then again how hard is to use the extension cable when in the Garden... come on the summer!
Works with ipod touch! July 21, 2008 Lauren R. (Hampshire, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I thought I'd let you all know it works with ipod touch because when I bought it I was unsure if it would be able to work through the touch's complex menues but it manages well. Only minor problem - I got the black one but it came with the remote from the white version!! I'm not bothered though - makes it easier to find on my messy desk!
