better than the PX 200! September 16, 2005 Andrew Cowie (Birmingham, England) 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
I went into my local hi-fi store intending to buy the px200s but after I spent 10 minutes flipping backwards and forwards between a demo pair of px200s and px100s I got the px100s. They have a depth of detail and realism that just isn't there with the 200s in spite of the lighter construction of the earpieces.
Mmmm - nice! February 19, 2004 L. Brown (UK) 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
They're the first headphones I've tried that can handle the bass-boost on my CD player without distortion. (Mind you, they're the first pair of headphones that haven't needed bass boost!) I don't need to have the volume as high in order to hear my favourite bits because the sound is so much clearer, so my ears ought to last longer too! Very comfortable and light. Top-tip: Buy spare foam pads at the same time.

Having just bought my 1st MP3 player(...I know..I know)I knew I would have to get some type of headphones,as I physically cannot tolerate earbuds. The supplied earbuds(it is a Samsung YP-U1/X...highly recommended!)produce excellent sound, but... SO.. I came shopping on Amazon again(I know,I'm stupid -- I should have ordered both items together)After reading the reviews for these Px100's I took the plunge, and am eternally grateful to all you previous reviewers for persuading me. The sound ,to me, is perfect.Wonderful bass and clarity of each sound/instrument/vocals, with no 'merging'. I'm no "audiophile",but i just can't see how you can better the sound production of these. They are opening up my ears with every track i listen to. As far as the 'sound leakage' problem is concerned, this won't bother me as I don't use public transport that much,(I'm lucky to have a car)I'm retired so won't be using them at work(lucky again)& will just turn the volume down if near other people. Will prob just be using them at home(wonderful when your ironing) The folding design, which fits snuggly into it's individually designed case is ingenious(takes a minute or two's practice to get it off pat).I was hoping I would have the added bonus of fitting my tiny MP3 into it too, but just can't squeeze it in..pity. To anybody still wavering, stop now -- go buy these. I can verify what has gone before... you won't regret it!

Serious quality for the cost. These headphones have taken my MP3 player listening to a different level. The clarity delivered is excellent and wearing is really comfortable. Very recommended.
Hard-wearing and very satisfying headphones May 22, 2006 William Burn (Nottingham, UK) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I have always been a fan of Sennheiser headphones, as the first set I encountered were one of their high-end hi-fi sets and the sound quality was terrific. I bought these to replace a set of Sennheisers that had travelled great distances with me and were beginning to show their age. The initial attraction of these headphones lay in their practicality: being able to fold them away into a dedicated carrying case was a great bonus, and the solution is a very tidy one indeed. I have had my set for almost a year now, and the only sign of wear and tear is a slight loosening of one of the hinges. Given that the phones are used every day, this is satisfyingly resilient. It cannot be claimed of these headphones that they are as discrete as earbud phones, but they are not in any way in competition with the little in-ear devices. These are headphones for people who enjoy listening to music on the move, but place importance on sound quality. And the sound quality is itself considerable. I use an iriver H320, and even without any bass boost the Sennheisers produce a deep, rich bass tone. With extra bass boost the effect can be quite daunting! But that is not to say they lack finesse: I listen to everything from Renaissance choral music to Wagner to Roni Size, and the Sennheisers prove themselves easily up to my demands of them. Never once have I regretted buying these headphones, and do not foresee myself replacing them for some time to come.
