4 out of 5 stars It's rubbery and It Works!   November 29, 2007

Ok, it took a little while to work it out, but it is very neat. The case has a nice protective rubbery feel to it...good grip and thin over the control buttons, so you can easily feel your way around.
True...it does not have a screen protector, but you can buy these as another product. I have the screen protector as well, an it works really well with the rubber case (or is it silicon). The protector (not included with the case) is the exact size of the screen, so place it very carefuly to make sure you cover all the screen (unlike me).
Back on the case...the wiring tidy thing is like a false back connected to the middle of the rear of the case by a large red plasic circle, about the size of a 2p coin. You simply plug your earphones into the normal socket and wrap the lead around the plasic 2P circle between the back and the false back...keep wraping until you have the right length of cable you need. There's alittle slit at the other end of the false back for the cable to slide into to keep things neat. As others have said..no instructions, which is surprising. Last thing, I have notice two little holes at one end of the case that must be for sliding a cord through so you can hang the device around your neck or whatever. I haven't tried this, so don't know how secure it is......hope this is usefull!

4 out of 5 stars zen skin   August 27, 2008

If your like me, who dosen't care about the wire management and wants a cheap skin to keep the scratches away from your shiny, new zen then this is what you want.

Because it is rubber, it stops it sliding easily on smooth surfaces too. SD slot, usb and headphone sockets are all accessible with it on- thats a good thing. All the buttons are covered up but can still be used easily. Stops finger marks also. It does get dirty quickly but no hassle really.

Yes it dosen't have a screen protector, but I thought that is obvious as it is a 'skin' and if you want to protect the screen, go down your local market and get a screen protector for about 1, which you cut to size. Best of both worlds then!

4 out of 5 stars what's the problem?   September 4, 2008
Qtoktok (UK)
I've seen a number of complaints about this but I don't see the problem here. I've been using this for about four months now and I have no complaints.
The wire management system is simple, intuitive and has saved me many frustrating minutes of disentangling headphone wires.
The lack of plastic in the screen hole actually makes it easier to take the skin on and off, which is also a bonus.
If you want to protect the screen there are plenty of better options than an integrated plastic sheet, such as the plastic films also available on this site (and also highly recommended). They cut down less of the illumination than an integrated piece of plastic would and are less liable to tear, especially when taking the skin on and off.
If there is any potential flaw with it, it's that it make the player quite a bit more bulky, but overall I find that a minor consideration given the benefits.

3 out of 5 stars Not bad, wire management is naff   June 14, 2008

I have just received this product. The one thing I noticed is that dust sticks to it due to the texture of the skin. This might improve with time as the rubber 'smoothes out' and becomes more plastic like.

The Wire Management is naff in my opinion. I immediately removed the additional back plate where the wire is supposed to be stored.

Overall it does the job of protecting the Zen, so it is fit for purpose. I knew it wasn't supposed to come with any sort of screen protection so have nothing to say about that.

Update: The dust problem isn't that bad after a couple of weeks.

3 out of 5 stars It's just a skin   March 4, 2008
Kyriakos (London)
Quite good, rubber skin. Doesn't cover screen or any of the sockets. Gets dirty very easily. Otherwise is good for protection against scratches and isn't much more difficult to use player with skin. Wire management is just a clip though and it is much easier to wrap earphones around the whole player.
