5 out of 5 stars Stunning little speakers   February 28, 2006

I got these from a local shop in the high street for £25. This buy turned out to be one of the best value buys I've ever come across. When you think portable speakers, you probably think they won't be much good. Put it this way, you aren't gonna get 2.1 system sound out of any small speaker set, so lower your expectations. These are convenient, easily portable and give out very high quality sound for how small they are.

Distortion of course is an issue, but only really at daft volumes where you'd be better off with your subwoofer. Be careful with these little speakers and you've got yourself a bargain.

They even work with my 2004, 20gb no longer sold MP3 player, so they should work with pretty much any MP3 player nowadays. So go and turn these speakers on while you do the washing up or working late at night and spread the word around!

I bought some speakers very similar to these for 8.98 incl. p&p (not by Ixos) and they're brilliant!
My 60GB iPod doesn't fit into the drawer with its Agent18 case but that's no biggie.
Sound quality is very impressive for the size and perfect for what I want, weekends away camping etc.
Volume available is equally impressive, controllable by the dial on the speakers or through the iPod.

4 out of 5 stars Impressive sound for the size   July 22, 2006

I've just bought these speakers and am impressed by the volume, sound quality and design. Obviously they are not the best quality speakers you will ever get, but they meet my expectations completely.

The only grumble is that they do not come with the DC power supply that is an alternative to the batteries. I had an appropriate DC power supply for another piece of equipment, but from the product description I was surprised by its absence.

4 out of 5 stars very good purchase, but...   July 8, 2008

i have to agree with mr cook's review. these were excellent speakers for a while, (think i've had them 18 months or so) but the connection has just gone dodgy and now you have to fiddle around with the the cable that connects to the ipod (or whatever it is you have it plugged into to get sound out of.) i especially liked the fact i wasn't reduced to plugging it into my ipod, it worked just as well with my laptop.
a decent buy, but don't overspend on it.

3 out of 5 stars Not adviseable to buy for ipod nano   July 9, 2006

I brought these speakers from Amazon a few months ago after buying my ipod nano. I thought they were very good value. They are also very good to take with you places due to their folding up feature. The only problem is the ipod nano, unlike other ipods, has the headphone connection at the bottom. This meant that it was akward to fit in and because of the small size of the nano it looked stupid in the speakers. Also it ruins the wire and after a while you have to struggle to keep it in to hear the music. Other people have also had this problem. So i think that these speakers would be good to buy with an ipod or ipod video, but do not buy for ipod nano, even though it says it works for it.
