GOB SMACKED November 29, 2006 20 out of 21 found this review helpful
For the price i thought i would take the risk on buying these speakers but didnt really know what to expect. Arrived the following day after placing my order ( great delivery service ). Took about 5 minutes to unpack and set up. Then the shock came as i turned it on....The sound was fantasic ,thought i might have just been lucky by the song i played so went on to play a mixture of different styles and no matter what i played the sound was great. Handles the bass well... I was just gob smacked...The best purchase i have made in ages, A complete bargain. The only shock i had was the size of the box when it arrived but dont worry its all packaging...The only downside is there is no volume switch on the unit its all done by the remote but its no big deal as long as you keep the remote safe. Would strongly recommend.
Its nearly perfect for the price October 19, 2006 29 out of 31 found this review helpful
All the previous reviews rave about the sound - all of which I agree with; yes there are some niggles such as the blue light (which I like), no controls on the unit and what to do if your battery fails on the remote - but I think for the price and the quality of sound, you cant really complain There is one gripe however, hence the nearly perfect, and something the pictures don't show. The transformer is almost the size of a brick, and heavier, and something which I hadn't noticed until my wife started complaining about buzzing at night (ooer). The lead from the transformer isn't that long, which has meant that its on the same shelf as the speakers (thankfully hidden by them), but this causes reverberation. Okay, it can't be heard when the music is on, but we now have to turn the unit off at the socket when its not in use.
Wow!! Well worth the money!! December 2, 2005 16 out of 17 found this review helpful
Well, what can i say! I've had my monitor audio system about 45 minutes and i'm extremly impressed! The music quality from such a small system is quite frankly astounding, i have put the volume as high as my ears can stand and the quality is still deep and rich! and it will go higher! If anyone is looking to get a stereo system for their ipod, i highly recommmend the monitor audio, yes it is a lot of money but its totally worth it!!
best ipod speaker system money can buy! November 19, 2006 16 out of 17 found this review helpful
I've been meaning to buy one of these for some time as a friend has got one and i was very impressed. Then i noticed amazon are selling them for under half price, i had to get one. It was delivered in a couple of days and is very easy to set up straight out of the box. The sound is brilliant and i can't find any fault with it. If you thinking of getting one i'd say get it, you won't regret it!
Hats off to the leader of the pack August 19, 2005 15 out of 16 found this review helpful
Being a natural Luddite, it took me some time to embrace digital technology, and the MP3 revolution. Trying to decide which 20 discs to take away on holiday forced me to but my ipod, and what a revelation it has turned out to be, as the random button plays music i have not heard in years. So pleased was i with this, i started searching for a suitable system in which i could hook my ipod into, to give me real Hi-Fi quality sound. Recently What Hi-Fi reviewed a host of players, and mentioned that the new i-deck from Monitor Audio might be the system that we were all looking for...boy were they right? As soon as i heard this, i knew it was the system for me, three of my friends were so impressed with the sound that they said they were going to get one too, and they didnt even own an ipod. The system looks great and the start up guide is simple and easy to use (luckily for me)with a neat remote control that functions even when in a different room to the i-deck. Sure there are cheaper systems out there, but the old addage is certainly true, you get what you pay for, and this, in my opinion is certainly money well spent. Dont buy anything else, until you have heard the leader of the pack, the i-deck.
