Excellent compact iPod speakers January 2, 2008 D. Parry (South Wales) 32 out of 33 found this review helpful
I was mad enough to go & spend 50 on these in a high street electronics retailer - then read the other review for this product, and was anticipating being disappointed.....how wrong could I have been! Sound quality is surprisingly very good, and I am a bit of an audio freak, so praise indeed. Even the bass is respectable, considering the speaker is about 2cm deep. Not sure it'll hack drum 'n bass, but can't knock it for the size & weight. While it won't replace a dedicated iPod dock & speakers at home, its more than handy for weekends away, or holidays. If you need a very slim, fairly lightweight speaker for an Ipod, you could do much much worse!
Amazing little speaker March 24, 2008 Mr. Alan Potter (Poole, UK) 15 out of 16 found this review helpful
I bought the Streetparty speaker to take on a skiing holiday mainly because it was so thin and small and it wouldn't take up room in my luggage. I was so pleased when it arrived and it sounded amazing and charged my ipod when docked. The sound is so good that it's used for dinner parties and gatherings and its so portable to move from room to room. I'd recommend it to anyone
Tips on Use October 26, 2008 Divecat (England) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This is an excellent little product and a bargain at 35 odd pounds. To get the best out of the unit, you need to access the EQ menu on your ipod and select "small speakers". This transforms the sounds from something inside a tin to a well rounded sound and remarkable coming from so small an item. I have not experienced any feedback but I would suggest that you give it a dedicated socket so it doesn't get any interference from anything else you might be running at the same time. Equally don't place it near the mobile. This is a fabulous item and means I can now access my full CD library in the kitchen as, apparently, my singing voice without any accompanying music needs some attention (I don't know what he can mean!!). Enjoy!
GEAR4 StreetParty Size0 speaker system March 21, 2008 Big Vern (Manchester, UK) 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
This is very compact and small making it easy to carry, the quality of the sound is surprisingly very good, i have just used it in my recent tour of lanzarote and would have been lost without it, great for travelling, mine came with adaptors for use in europe and also uses batteries, would recommend this item.
Absolutely amazing speakers March 24, 2008 Gerry Ryan (Dublin, Ireland) 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
I specifically bought these speakers for travelling, as they are slim, compact and come with a carry case (albeit a bit of a flimsy one). I have an iPod nano (the new version) and I was amazed by the sound quality. For their size, the sound is crystal clear and quite loud (depending on what sample rate you imported the music onto your iPod at). I was quite surprised by Bob's review, as there was no crackling from the music, it was very good for the size of the speakers. I was quite surprised at the bass levels, not amazing, but what do you want from speakers this size. I changed the EQ settings on the iPod to bass booster and this works a treat. As for the remote, yes it's small, but these are travel speakers. Being able to navigate through the iPod menu via the remote is excellent. If I want really quality sound, I hook my iPod up to my home theatre system, but when I'm in the kitchen, these speakers are always on. If you're looking for good quality travel speakers, these are the ones for you.
