5 out of 5 stars Excellent value for Money   August 5, 2007

I had previously had the Logic 3 (7) and had sent 2 back as I thought they were faulty - but since realised they were just poor quality. The sound distorted at low volumes and when the music was very quiet (especially classical music) the machine kept turning itself off! So after 2 I decided a different machine was in order. I looked at various makes and after reading lots of reviews decided on the LOGITECH - it is excellent. It arrived really quickly and was very easy to set up and use. The plug is pretty small - compared to the Logic 3 brick! The sound is really good at both low and high volumes. I had to tweak the I-pod equalizer to get a bit more bass - but this was quick and easy to do. It is quite chunky, but very light and comes with a protective case - not sure if I would pack it in my suitcase though. I am really really pleased with the LOGITECH and would highly recommend it as offers excellent value for money and the sound quality is great.

5 out of 5 stars Great Speakers!   February 5, 2007

I think the sound quality is really good and that the speakers look great (not flimsy or cheap). They work with either battery (6 AA) or the AC adaptor. One of the best things is that I can leave my iPOD snugly wrapped in its case (iSkin eVo3) and its a perfect fit! I would definitely recommend these speakers.

I'd spent ages looking for a speaker set up and finally decided on this one after listening to it in a high street department store.

I move around a lot so needed something portable yet with the best sound quality possible. It docks with my ipod whilst in its Agent18 hardcase, has a remote, a travel case, and takes batteries should you need some alfresco action.

Highly recommended

5 out of 5 stars Brilliant sound.   September 18, 2007

These are fantastic; superb sound quality, very portable and a stylish design. Works brilliantly with an iPod, and also has a socket to connect to other external sources (personal CD, Minidisc etc) making it the only portable speaker you'll ever need.
Good news for people looking at the new range of iPods is it will work with them too making it truly 'future proof'. Overall a brilliant buy and highly recommended.

5 out of 5 stars Undoubtedly the best speaker-dock in its price range on both counts, aesthetically & performance!   May 24, 2007

The AudioStation Express conforms to the styling concept adopted by many of Apple's products, in a word minimalist. Henceforth, if you're a fan of such a styling concept, I'm adamant you'd agree that the AudioStation Express is aesthetically an extremely good-looking speaker-dock.

Further, albeit a small package, it does possess superior performance for its respective product dimensions. However, it is exactly that, a speaker-dock, thus cannot act as a substitute for a decent hi-fi system, nor indeed can the Bose SoundDock for that matter. The AudioStation Express will suffice for a room-filling sound, although will not meet the sound demands required for a party for example.

According to the Amazon website, the AudioStation Express possesses a total RMS output of 6 Watts RMS. More intriguingly, the Bose SoundDock possess a total RMS output of 8 Watts RMS. Now, if you genuinely believe that the extra mere 2 Watts RMS found on the Bose SoundDock warrants a price difference of 170 Pounds, then by all means purchase the latter, although I feel to part with such a sum of money for a mere extra 2 Watts RMS is absolutely ludicrous, you may feel differently however.

Personally, for me it was a choice between the AudioStation Express or the Logitech mm50. In comparison, they both have their traits and flaws. If you're after a truly portable device, I'd opt for the mm50, as in comparison its depth is not as great as the AudioStation Express. Further, the mm50 comes with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, whereas with the AudioStation Express, 6 AA batteries are required as an alternative power supply to the AC (Mains) Adapter.

Aesthetically, it's no contest; the AudioStation Express wins hands down. Sound performance, they are both comparable, the mm50 does possess a 3D Stereo Widening Effect, however the AudioStation Express compensates for this by possessing extra powerful bass made possible due to its increased size in depth.

In summation, the AudioStation Express is a superior product on both counts, style & performance; conforming to the styling concept adopted by Apple's products, and with a mere 2 Watts RMS less sound output than the Bose SoundDock, whereby the difference in price between the latter and the AudioStation Express is an astronomical 170 Pounds, which is the better buy...you do the math!!!
