Product Description The i-Station3 from Logic3 is a stylish yet portable speaker system designed to enrich your listening experience. With it, you can listen, sync and charge your iPod with just one device - a must have for any serious iPod owner. The i-Station3 delivers high-quality stereo sound through a sub-woofer and 3Watt neodymium drivers. It also implements a 3D surround sound processor to give you a more natural tone. Just slip your iPod into the integrated dock and let the music fill the air. And to ensure that your iPod is always on full battery, the i-Station charges your device even while it's playing. Apart from the regular AC adapter and DC batteries, the i-Station3 has a third power option - via computer. Simply connect the i-Station to your Mac or PC via the Mini USB connection cable (included) and you can now sync and charge your docked iPod. It's a great feature that's perfect for any office or home work area. All these features and more can be found in just one compact system - Logic3's i-Station3 Speaker System.

Excellent portable speakers November 20, 2006 moet (UK) 79 out of 79 found this review helpful
Overall; the sound quality and available loudness from these speakers is really quite remarkable, and added to their portability and optional battery power they are really a bargain. I received these speakers as a gift, so didn't have a chance to read reviews or test them against other speakers, however I needn't have worried about their quality; I don't know if the older i-station 3 speakers with the extra sub-woofer are to be phased out, but they really don't sound any better than these speakers. A small sub-woofer isn't going to make a lot of difference anyway, and comparing the two designs I think these are just as good and a lot cheaper (I have heard both). The overall size of the folded speaker set is about that of a small paperback book; there are clear plastic covers built in that fold over the speakers to protect them and the base unit which holds the ipod folds up into the body of the unit. Several adaptors are supplied to hold whichever ipod you own, but you will need the adaptor that came with your (original model) nano if you want to seat that securely. The unit is very simple to use with only a couple of buttons for volume up and down and the on/off switch. The on/off switch is illuminated blue and is really bright. Because your ipod is connected via its USB socket the volume can only be controlled from the i-station buttons; these can be adjusted from silent to max volume quite quickly and easily with a couple of pushes (and I've edited this because I said they wouldn't go down to zero volume previously - I've since found out that my original unit was faulty; the new one is fine) You can also change the EQ setting on the ipod itself and this will change the sound tone from the speakers, although I found the setting for 'small speakers' was a bit bassy and muffled. The'rock' setting is good. Sound quality is really very good for such tiny speakers, and as I've said the available volume is excellent. If you want to connect any other type of portable player a headphone adaptor lead is supplied that will allow the output of any device with a 3.5mm headphone socket to be amplified (which is anything and everything really - cassettes/mp3 players and portable CD players). Talking of leads; a mains lead is also supplied and is colour matched to the main unit too. If you use this the player is slightly louder than with just batteries, but it is the battery feature that makes this player so good - battery life seems to quite amazingly good. I put in a set of rechargeable li-on batteries over a month ago and they are still going strong. I was really expecting the battery feature to be a bit of a gimic with them only lasting a few minutes, but the minimal battery consumption makes these speakers really great to carry around without worrying about extra leads/adaptors. You can actually charge your ipod when the mains adaptor is in use, but not when you are using just batteries, so you still have to note if the ipod is charged if you are out and about. I suppose it would be handy to be able to recharge rechargeable batteries within the unit, but you can't have everything I suppose! A USB adaptor lead is also supplied that will connect to a computer and you can sync with itunes whilst listening to your ipod, even if you are using the speakers own batteries. Overall I love these speakers and would recommend them highly to anyone looking for either highly portable speakers, or just great value.
Excellent bit of kit May 9, 2007 L. James (Thame, Oxfordshire) 47 out of 47 found this review helpful
I brought this on the basis of Amazon ratings, I don't normally do that as I am usually sceptical about star ratings but everyone seemed of the same mind so I took the plunge! I wanted to avoid merely 'adequate' but tinny sound (Like the old CD player type speakers) and I did not want something that will break in a suitcase or if it falls more than 5 inches but I didn't imagine I could get that at this price. Well there is a reason everyone is of the same mind as what we have here is quite simply an excellent set of travel speakers. They sound superb; they close down small & look good (OK they smudge a bit with finger prints but all black ipod owners know and live with this). General opinion at a recent bit of a doo at my place was that they must cost 60 or 70 quid (one guest suggested over a 100!) and nobody believed the actual cost till I e-mailed the link so 'good value for money' doesn't do Logic3 justice. Not only do I have a low space mobile stereo system with thousands of tracks when on holiday which is what I was after but the sound is good enough for the garden so all those BBQ's and summer parties are covered too and I can bin my beat box and get rid of all the CD's for good. Stop searching and buy this one; rare as it is these days this does exactly what they say it does on the box :) UPDATE TO THE ABOVE - 6 MONTHS on Sadly the above is only half the story. When the dock is opened for use it forms an L shaped cross section inevitably held in place inside by a piece of plastic. As there is no remote this means using the pad on the front of the i-pod and effectively pushing against the piece of plastic and mine has of course broken so the dock has fallen flat on it's back. In addition one of the speakers has gone on the blink possibly because when open the speakers have no protection at all. The dock has been used in a responsible and careful manner and I would say is still reasonable value on a budget but very much an occasional use consumable item rather that the long term reliable option I was looking for. I think I will be stepping up to the 60-70 quid bracket after all. I would like to change this to *** (three stars) but that option does not appear to be available; which beggars the question as to how reliable anything can be on the basis of these reviews.
Small but perfect! January 9, 2007 Clare H (London, UK) 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
I had to get a portable speaker for my ipod as I was going to split my week in 2 different places and I have to have my music not just from earphones! I decided on this one as it looked cool in black and the decidedly ok reviews from others. And it did not fail! I am very pleased with my purchase but the only gripe is that I could do with an optional remote control...just because I'm lazy! But other than that, sound quality is great and it's easy to set up!

Having tried other portable speakers before, these have got to be the best, plenty of volume and the sound from small speakers is very good. I am impressed. Forget the rest buy these speakers for your ipod use on mains or batterys folds flat, take it anywere. Very good bit of kit for the price. (will also work with other mp3 players)

Wanted something small for travelling and outside BBQ's so that my real stereo stays in one piece !!! Decent sound quality , simple controls and an audio input jack plus usb charger........yes the sound at max level distorts a little but besides that it rocks....what more do you want for 30..I think its a great little piece of kit
